Colorado Ski Lessons For Your Winter Ski Vacation

My friend absolutely LOVEs to snowboard - it’s one of the few things she actually likes about the cold weather! Yea, she's the girl that would rather spend 365 days in 100 degree weather! Just the same, when ski and snowboard season comes around she is oftentimes trying to find new ways to make not only her trip better, but her snowboarding tricks and performance better as well. People say it's all about your form, personally I think it's all about balance! One thing she didn't try yet was skiing.

Skiers always say snowboarding is harder and snowboarders always say skiing is harder. Either way, she was scared! One of the things I suggested to her when she was going to go to Colorado was Colorado ski lessons - if you can't learn from the best, who can ya learn from! Of course it was up to me to find a few Colorado ski packages for her - the one she really liked was Vail. I know its so cliche, but hey, the heart wants what the heart wants.

Evidently her trip went great, she took the Colorado ski lessons I suggested, and she got over her fear of skiing. What was really nice about the lessons was that are taught by professionals that actually know what they are doing. Not only do they know what they are doing, but they have fun doing it and they teach YOU to have fun doing it as well!

Looking For Fun And Beauty? Check out Colorado!

Most of the time when people go on vacations it's for a few different reasons. First off they really need to take a few days off - life can oftentimes become overly stressful and sometimes people just need to blow some steam off! Second off, they simply want to be some place beautiful where they can forget all their worries and just bask in the beauty of the location. And lastly, one of the most popular reasons people take vacations ... is to have fun! This "fun" could be caused by all kinds of things.

Maybe you like eating in nice restaurants and trying different kinds of foods, or maybe you love sports and you want to try something new like skiing, snowboarding or surfing! Either way, when it comes to vacations you have a few different options for you, especially if you like skiing! Colorado is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the spring, summer, winter or fall. One of the most popular sports or activities here is quite obviously skiing! Why?

Well I suppose it's a few different factors, some of which you will have to discover yourself. Off the top of my head, I would say that it's the beauty of the scenery, the amazing slopes, and the perfect snow! When it comes to these ski adventures though, where are you supposed to find the best places TO ski in Colorado? How do you know where to go to get ski lessons? Well one of the things you can try is logging to Limitless Adventures that offers Colorado ski lessons or Colorado ski packages.

This is ultimately going to make your experience much better because they will really be able to suggest and answer anything you need help with! I love Colorado, and so do the other millions of people that visit this state every year for skiing activities alone!

Are You Visiting Colorado Soon? Would You Like To Try Skiing?

There are specific places around the world where you visit for specific reasons. For example, I would love to go to France to visit the Louvre, or visit Belgium for the chocolate. Now when it comes to Colorado, people usually visit this lovely state for all kinds of reasons, but one of the most popular reasons is to SKI! Colorado by far has some of the prettiest landscapes and the most incredible terrain that I have ever seen before. Even if you don't come here to ski, who knows what the day may bring on your vacation!

If you are visiting Colorado and you would like to try to ski, or if you are an old professional and would love to do something that really makes you happy, then there are winter ski vacations that you can find online are definitely going to be something you will want to take a look at! Check out Limitless Adventures, they are unlike other travel sites because they don't just offer a service and push you on your way. Instead, these guys really customize your vacation and your stay.

Let someone else do all the dirty work for you!

Are You Going On A Winter Ski Vacation? Are You Looking For A Ski Instructor & Organizer?

When it comes to winter ski vacations it can be very fun and very exciting. However, what if you visit a place that you have never been before, like Colorado? You probably won't know the best resorts, the best mountains or the best treks to go to right? Well if you find a sky instructor someone like this could most definitely teach you the ins and outs of everything there is to know about Colorado ski lessons and Colorado ski packages. They will also be able to tell you the best places to see and go when it comes to your trip!

By the way, Limitless Adventures even offers organizers for your Colorado ski trip. This is somewhat like a concierge service at a hotel you would visit. Tell them where you will be staying and they can completely set up your vacation for you. This way you can hit all the places you should be hitting, and you can find some of the most superb activities to do in Colorado as well! They might even suggest other things as well if they are asked such as restaurants to eat at, best taxi service, or even a good place to rent skis!

Even the most prepared person can sometimes become overwhelmed by a winter ski vacation. With someone or something like this, you won't have to worry about anything nor will you have to be stressed out. Let someone else plan your day for you and do what most vacationers do on their vacations - sit back, relax, and have some fun!

Do You Need A Vacation? How About A Colorado Ski Package?

The travel industry is one of the most successful industries in the world, and its no wonder considering there are so many places to see and to visit! Personally, I love the sun much more than the snow. But I have also been tempted to take Colorado ski lessons as well because it seems like a really fun thing to do! When it comes to traveling - have it be to another part of your state, another state or another country altogether, it's always best to check online and see what is available.

For (an unbiased) example, www.limitlessadventures.com has all kinds of winter ski vacation packages, and they also offer custom vacations for adventure trips as well. By adventure trips, I mean winter ski vacations, snowboarding, climbing of the alps, white water rafting, horseback riding, etc. Anything that is going to get you excited and really gets your adrenaline flowing!

The one problem that a lot of people have when it comes to trips, is that they really just don't know how to set one up so that everything happens "together". More often than not I know of a few people that have tried to schedule everything accordingly so that they wouldn't have to wait for their car, or they wouldn't have to wait for their room, but it always seems to be so difficult. With an organized guide and winter ski vacation company, you no longer have to worry about all of this stuff. Simply tell them where you want to go, what you want to do, maybe where you want to stay, and voila it's all done for you and it's all organized!

Ski News: Vail Resorts Overcomes Recession with Season-Pass Sales

Good news fellow skiers! According to Bloomberg.com the economy will not effect this coming ski season as Vail Resorts season-pass sales hiked 13% this last September.

And why not? Moving fast in a slippery slope is A-OK when talking about skiing (unlike economy) and it seems that skiers are getting ready to make this ski season unforgettable.

Vail employees are also noticing a boost in booking after last year skiers decided to stay at home and ski on their Nintendo Wii.

The resorts are also throwing in incentives and discounts on early reservations. And you can stop making sandwiches and enjoy special Vail Value Meals. Yup, you heard right. For 9 bucks you’ll get an entrée, side dish and a beverage of your choice.

Now it’s always smart to act fast and book a Colorado ski vacation early and if you do it before December 1, 2009 you’ll get 20% off coaching. Remember that when booking your adventure with us, you’re getting VIP treatment and a complete package including Airfare, Lodging, Guiding, Coaching and Limitless Adventures the exciting Colorado Rockies.

Four days and five nights in the heart of the Winter Park Resort. You wake up in a cozy Vail condo and smell the morning coffee that’s brewing in the private kitchen downstairs. After having a hearty breakfast you meet your private coach and start an exciting day of skiing and snowboarding.

Well, how does it sound? A beautiful, three-bedroom cabin with two baths and a night by the fire.

Now it’s always smart to act fast and book a vacation early and if you do it before December 1, 2009 you’ll get 20% off coaching. Remember that when booking your adventure with us, you’re getting VIP treatment and a complete package including Airfare, Lodging, Guiding, Coaching and Limitless Adventures the exciting Colorado Rockies.

2010 Ski Magazine's Top Resort Guide is out. Where do you ski?

Utah’s Deer Valley was ranked No.1 by readers of Ski Magazine in their 2010 Resort Survey. Second runner up was Whistler B.C. followed by Colorado’s own Vail in the 3rd spot.

“Deer Valley offers an easy going ski vacation for families” responded the readers in love with the friendly staff that always seems to know exactly what they need and when they need it. Deer Valley isn’t your budget ski vacation, but if you guys can afford your stay, you will enjoy great food and luxurious lodging.

Canada’s Whistler Blackcomb was ranked 2nd and “the most dynamic resort village in North America.” Indeed, in Whistler you can find anything from adventure and extreme ski to backcountry ski or just an old fashioned evening of Canadian table dancing.

Vail held the first two spots for a very long time but plunged to 3rd this year. Still a much respected resort, Vail Colorado dreams of being a resort for the everyman, even for men who don’t ski, which seems to be the trouble here. Some skiers don’t like the fact that Vail is everything, a luxury lodging, dining, alcohol, designer boutiques, art galleries, fancy condos and then there’s also some skiing.

What is your favorite ski resort? Are you planing to get there this winter? Visit Limitless Adventures and book your Colorado ski adventure today!

Be responsible! Remember Drink and Hike!

Pssst… We want to tell you a secret! You know water? Shhh!!! Water, water, you know water? Good. You know it’s important to drink water? Shhh! Yes, drink water, yes, especially during hikes.

Well, maybe it’s not such a big secret. They say most of our body is water (that’s why I don’t like swimming – I’m afraid I’ll get mixed) and water is essential for all living things, but especially essential to all hikers who would like to stay living things.

Remember that your thirst level is not the most accurate indicator of your body’s water level. When planning a big hike, start with drinking around 20 ounces of water, a couple of hours before you start and during the hike you should be gulping around 10 ounces of water to every 15 minutes of sweat. In this way you will compensate on the body’s loss of water. But don’t drink too much all at once, you’ll feel heavy and get cramps.

If you drink during your little adventure, you will prevent icky nausea, fight exhaustion and avoid unnecessary risks like heat stroke.

By the way, at Limitless Adventures, we got plenty of hikes and mountaineering adventures waiting for you and lots of water as well. Liquid if your thirsty, or frozen if you're up to a Colorado ski vacation. All you have to is give us a call and plan your dream adventure vacation today!

All aboard! The Colorado Ski Train returns

Good news fellow skiers! Remember the good old Colorado Ski Train? Well, the train might be getting back on track for the next ski season.

The latest news tell us that Union Pacific Railroad agreed to let a new owner use the same tracks that take skiers down from Colorado up to the Winter Park resort.

The Ski Train introduced many people to ski during the 50’s and 60’s and flourished during the late 80’s and early 90’s and up until its final run to Winter Park on March 29, 2009.

According to USA Today “Chicago-based Iowa Pacific Holdings, which operates freight and excursion trains in six states including Colorado, wants to take over the service. Iowa Pacific President Ed Ellis says the train would use his company's equipment and Amtrak would provide the crews.”

So if you’re thinking about Colorado Ski vacation this winter and you wanna get there with the Colorado Ski train, Limitless Adventures can make it happen!

How to get a SCUBA certification? Hold your breath

Did you know that SCUBA actually stands for the very-long-hold-your-breath-word: Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. Scuba diving is not much different than driving – mostly because of the license part. So how to get a SCUBA certification?

The scuba DMV is called PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) or SSI (Scuba Schools International), and they want you to learn how to dive like a shark – which means safely and correctly. If you don’t have a certificate or a license card issued by the PADI or SSI no one will rent you gear, give you air or let you dive. If they do – I’d check that air if I was you.

So the first thing to do is to contact an approved PADI instructor and schedule some class time. Yes, scuba certificate requires three steps: class, pool training and diving, and you will need to read a manual, study and have a short exam.

The first diving you’ll do won’t have much of underwater scenery to it. It will mainly contain children swimming from afar and maybe you will get lucky and find a quarter at the bottom of the pool. After the fun pool part you can go on and dive supervised in the open.

Limitless Adventures would like to invite you to join us on a customized SCUBA diving adventure. Whether you're a beginner who wants to get certified and complete your first Open Water dive, or you're an advanced diver looking to further your skills, we take care of everything! Check out www.limitlessadventures.com and explore our best SCUBA destinations: The Great Barrier Reef in Australia, Zanzibar in Tanzania (Indian Ocean), Southern California, and many more.

8 Essential Golf Tips. What more can you ask for?

A few weeks ago we blogged about our recent collaboration with Striker Golf. Before you head on to that dream golf vacation of yours, we wanted to go over a few golf tips that can help we become a true golfer.

1. Golf can be expensive so be a smart shopper. Don’t spend 5000 dollars on your first club. Aim for mid range sports manufacturers and begin with a 100 dollar club.

2. Take golf lessons because your mini-golf experience doesn’t count. When you take golf lessons you’ll play with golfers in your skill range and make friends to golf with.

3, 4 and 5. Know your Grip, Posture and Stance. The three essentials of golf. Grip means how you hold the club and the better you grip the better you play. Posture leads to a proper swing and maintaining balance is essential. Having a stable golf stance and footing will help you control the ball and get it where you want it to go.

7. Know Golf Etiquette. It’s the basic golfer’s code that will ensure everybody is having a pleasant time whether they are pros or amateur golfers and you don’t have clubs thrown at your direction by angry golfers.

8. Call Limitless Adventures that provide a technologically-enabled indoor golf teaching facility focused on training people to optimize their golf proficiency in abbreviated time. If Golf vacation is your adventure, visit www.limitlessadventures.com and start working on that swing.

How To Survive a Bear Attack?

I was hiking with my sister in Yellowstone a couple of years ago in this very lonely track down the Yellowstone canyon. I remember till this very day the words that my sister whispered then: “I think I see a bear!”

We totally freaked out and started running as fast as we can. When we later told the story to a park ranger, he told us we were lucky to be alive because the worst thing you can do when you see a bear is run. How to survive a bear attack?
  • Bears can run over 30 miles per hour which means in quick calculation: 44 feet per second. Olympic athletes can’t run that fast!
  • If the bear does not notice you, make a big detour around the bear.
  • If he did see you, turn back and walk slowly – away from the bear.
  • That climbing up the tree thing – go ahead. But know that almost all bears can climb as well as you can, if not better.
If nothing works – play dead. Really. Lie face down with hands over your head and don’t move. Bear experts say the fighting and resistance only makes the bear angry and you don’t want to make the bear angrier than he is already.

Bears don’t really want to eat you and many hikers encounter bears and enjoy the amazing experience from a safe distance.

For a safe adventure that is not life threatening visit Limitless Adventures and plan the trip of a lifetime.

Best places for White Water Rafting in Colorado

It’s summer. The water temperature and levels are just about right. It’s time for some white water rafting.

It’s a beautiful, scenic trip through Colorado River’s beautiful canyons that’s perfect for the young and the young at heart. You’ll float in scenic serenity through mild whitewater (class II, III), rich wildlife, jumping rocks, and hot springs which make this the trip for that first river experience, families, or groups of all ages.

How to stay safe during a Hiking trip?

Last week we've discussed how to prepare to a hiking trip. So you got the GPS and first-aid kit and a lot of cheerful spirit and you are ready to go! But wait, you think we're done???

How to stay safe during the Hike
  • Don’t wander off alone. Stay in trail so you will be able to get assistance if something happens.
  • Enjoy animals from far. Don’t try to feed wild animals – you might end up as the main course.
  • Keep a steady hiking rhythm that can help you prevent exhaustion and make the hike more enjoyable.
  • Stop to get some rest in regular intervals. 10 minute break for every hiking hour is recommended.
  • Even if the stream looks better than bottled water, don’t be tempted to drink, unless you purify the water first.
  • If you’re planning on camping, make sure you know what the authorities think about it. Some places require a camping permit and it could be illegal to light up a fire in the wilderness.
What to do in case of Emergencies?
  • Be ready for emergencies and stay calm.
  • Contact emergency and rescue services immediately.
  • If you can not contact emergency services, leave the victim with a friend and go back for help.
  • See if the victim is conscious and responsive. Check breathing and make sure his airway is open.
If you’re looking for some professional advice, don’t hesitate to contact www.limitlessadventures.com and ask for more information about mountaineering. If you need help planning, you should know that the experienced staff at Limitless Adventures can take you to some of the most beautiful peaks, anywhere in the world, from the roof Africa on Mt. Kilimanjaro to the 14,000 ft. peaks of Colorado.

Take a Hike! But Stay Safe...

So you are planning to go on a hike this weekend? Whether you're planning a short day hike or an overnight backpacking trip - you should know that follow some basic safety rules.

What can you do in order to be sure you’ll be coming back home healthy and in one piece?
  • Prepare well. Know the hike and take all relevant maps. GPS is great, but even a simple compass can be very important.
  • Take a cell phone but a satellite phone can be more useful in the wilderness.
  • Try to travel with professional and experienced hikers.
  • Be sure you are in proper shape and choose a hike you can handle. Practice. Start to carry a heavy backpack when you engage your daily activities.
  • Check weather forecast and make sure that climate conditions allow safe hiking.
  • Leave early in the morning so you can avoid traveling during the night.
  • Find a recommended gear list online and bring enough food and water. It’s always recommended to take more water than you think you need.
  • Always carry emergency equipment: first-aid kit, whistle, matches and a flash light.
  • But still, carry only the most important essentials. A heavy backpack can make your trip more strenuous and less enjoyable.
Limitless Adventures believes that safety of the group is our #1 priority. And this is just the beginning. Next week we'll discuses the necessary precautions during your hiking adventure. So stay tuned, stay safe and don't forget to enjoy the view!

“The Vail trip is what I look forward to every winter. The trip is planned out perfectly. The whole atmosphere screams excitement and our adventures are sensational. They have taught me to be a much better skier and as a result I have found myself jumping off cliffs into deep powder... and surviving! I have also jumped out of a perfectly good airplane and had such a good time doing so, that I decided to get my sky diving license this spring.

If you have ever wanted to do something that you were a little scared to do, or just get yourself into an adventure - you can be sure that it’ll happen on a trip here.”

So you think you can Raft?

Rafting is fun, exciting, challenging and mostly a wet experience. Although it involves sitting, rafting is not your regular theme-park thrill-ride as it requires you to be active both in your body and mind.

There are several techniques you need to know before going on a rafting experience. There’s highsiding which basically means that in some dangerous cases you have to move to the high side of the raft so it will not turn over. There’s also keeping the boat in a straight line which requires team work and focus.

Rafting divides into difficulty levels – class I through VI where I is a backyard stream created by a hose and VI is practically impossible. But don’t worry, rafting isn’t that dangerous. There are more accidents in bowling than in rafting and most rafting accidents occur when getting on and off the boat.

Just pick a nice day, put on some comfy clothes, bring lots of water and think about class 5 rapids in the Royal George, located just outside of Canyon City, Colorado.

This is only a part of an action-packed Colorado Adventure Includes Skiing, Climbing, Rafting and Hiking, all with the adventure driven guides of Limitless Adventures. For more information on this or any other custom adventure, please visit www.limitlessadventures.com or call 1(800)785-4240. These trips will book fast, so act now!

Mountaineering – Not exactly your typical weekend hike

Mountaineering is basically like hiking, but you have to leave grandma out of the picture. Let’s say you don’t just hike the Kilimanjaro. Mountaineering involves a more challenging hiking, and you’ll get to much higher attitudes. You also have to keep the next rules:

  1. Stay Safe.*
  2. Don’t go for the Himalayas. If you are a beginner, you should act as one and start practicing in your back yard – that is if it has a nice little hill. Go to a state park that’s near you and work your way to the top. Literally.
  3. Know your body. Don’t go over the top. You should be aware of what you are capable. Don’t join an advanced group if you are a beginner and remember to come physically prepared, stretched and all, so you won’t pull a muscle during the hike.
  4. Practice. Start to carry a heavy backpack when you engage your daily activities. Run, jog, do bike, climb indoor. And carry a backpack.
  5. Be ready. Write down a list of the things you need to take. Don’t forget to carry water – lots of water.
  6. Read. Learn. Know the basic essentials. Review your Scouts education - figure how to tie a useful knot and work on your survival instincts.
Get yourself some good karma, join local guides and climb. Limitless Adventures will take you to some of the most beautiful peaks, anywhere in the world, from the roof Africa on Mt. Kilimanjaro to the many 14,000 ft. peaks of Colorado.

Great Places to Dive

Palau, Micronesia

Palau is considered to be one of the most exciting diving sites in the world. There are over 100 dive sites along the 90 mile coral lagoon of Palau. You will find Blue holes, underwater caverns and a colorful variety of exotic marine species. Sharks, turtles, dolphins and rare fish gather at Palau at the crossroads of three of the world's major ocean currents.

California, La Jolla Cove

The entrance takes quite a few steps down, through a rocky cove and resting sun-tanners. Just beyond the entrance, you will find a large kelp forest and rocky area, beginning in 6 feet of water, and heads out to La Jolla Canyon. This is a great place to see local fish and crustaceans, and maybe even a shark or two. Down the coast is by far the best place to see huge variety of what this cold water haven has to offer. The Cove is protected, so you cannot take anything to keep as a souvenir.

Egypt, The Blue Hole.

In the Red Sea shore of the Sinai Desert, rests the blue hole. Surrounded with Bedwyn merchants, selling everything from diving gear to local food, the Blue Hole is one of the world most famous diving sites. The site doesn’t look like much until you realize that the sea floor drops abruptly away from the coastline. Many divers risked their lives in this hole. The tunnel that connects the hole with the open sea is more than 50 meters deep, that’s when nitrogen narcosis begins to influence.

California, Kelp Beds – Spring Fall

When the sun is out, and the water is clear, you will feel like you are diving in a cathedral. The beauty and life of these forests are endless. This can be a tough dive, due to the fact that you can get caught up in the kelp. Bit we’re all about adventure, aren’t we?
