Working hard on the mountain you're rewarded with the relaxation of a cozy fire and hot chocolate back in the cabin, and after a long day, everyone is tired and happy and you wake up early the next morning so you can do it all again.

When you're planning a trip involving Colorado ski lessons, it's important that you choose the right teacher. If you're new to skiing (or are traveling with someone who is), you need to find an instructor who will be patient and diligent, especially when it comes to safety. To find quality instruction like this, most skiers put their faith in resorts.

Here are three of our favorites:

First on the list is Copper Mountain (pictured), which offers a huge variety of lesson packages and options. The resort offers both private and group lessons, in addition to youth programs, training for competitions, and even special classes for seniors.

Next up is the Winter Park resort in Colorado — a beautiful getaway that offers a selection similar to that of Copper Mountain, with the addition of women's-only ski lessons and even instruction for mountain bikes.

For beginners, we recommend the Eldora Mountain Resort. Just 20 minutes from Boulder, Colorado, the Eldora resort includes a special first-timer package, including a four-hour introductory lesson. That much teaching should help anyone enjoy the perfect winter ski vacation!

If you decided to book your Colorado ski packages or you are going on a winter ski vacation within the next few months, I'm sure you've started to read up on the different kinds of slopes available to skiers. If not, that's okay! Just read down a little bit further and hopefully I can help you understand the differences. There are four main types of slopes; easy, difficult, most difficult and expert ski slopes. The easy slopes or more well-known "Bunny Slopes", are for those that are really just starting with their Colorado ski lessons. You might be able to stand on the skis and you might be able to go a few inches or few feet before falling.

The more difficult and most difficult slopes are for people that already got their Colorado ski lessons and they know how to do tricks, slants, turns, curves, and know terms like "Brain Bucket", "Figure Eleven", "Gondola" and my favorite - Mashed Potatoes! Usually you won't find an intermediate skier on the Bunny Slopes unless he's with someone that is just learning!

Lastly, the experienced expert slopes, are for people like Jonny Moseley and Hermann Maier would ski on. These are going to be slopes that are not only scary, but death defying. While death defying sounds horrible, it's actually not. It’s pretty darn fun - and if you can get to this degree of experience in your lifetime - awesome!
